  I got lucky at choosing a day when the water levels were good. If the water had been much higher, the creek crossings would have been hard. I recommend looking at the gauge (somewhat near) on Putah Creek - Below Hwy 29. It was 300 cfs when I visited the waterfall.

  route: The road to the trailhead is challenging. I zig zagged a lot the last few miles to avoid deep potholes, then drove through water about 3 inches deep that was flowing over the road. The creek crossings on the trail were mostly wide but not too deep. I got a modest amount of water in my boots on the first crossing. The other crossings were slightly easier.
